Google's customer support number is That will take you to a menu that will take you to a series of other menus, but most of the time, unless you have an issue with a piece of hardware like an Android phone, the end result of your call will be a recorded voice telling you which webpage to visit to try to resolve your issue.
And don't go calling other "Google" help numbers you find online; many are scams. A real person may well pick up, but they're after your cash, not your problem with a doc or an email account or a search. Read more: How to change the language on your Google Chrome browser. There is a lot more to Chrome than meets the eye. Google Chrome is a browser made by Google and offered as a free download for desktop and mobile devices. Read More. But Chrome OS is completely different from the Chrome browser. Contrary to popular opinion, Google Chrome is not open source.
Many assume "open source" and "free software" mean the same thing but that's not true. It's in your best interest to know what the differences are. That said, Google released the source code it made Chrome from as a different open-source project called Chromium. Chromium is the open-source code that Chrome is based on.
Chromium is also the name of the browser made with that open-source code. In a nutshell, Google took Chromium and added more features to make Chrome. For example, Google loaded proprietary codecs like MP3 and H.
But all things considered, the difference is minor. You can easily use Chromium instead of Chrome without ever realizing the difference. So what has got so many people using Chrome instead of other browsers? There are a few advantages that set Chrome apart from the rest.
Not everything is hunky-dory though. Even though Chrome has so much to offer, it is also guilty of some missteps. There are ways to bypass them. Chrome is a customizable browser, and its arsenal of extensions will let you make Chrome behave the way you want.
The first step, of course, is to install the latest version of Google Chrome on your Windows, Mac, or Linux computer. Google updates Chrome often, so to get the latest…. This will start a file download.
Once the file is downloaded, run it and follow the instructions to install it.What is this mysterious helper, and what is it "helping" with? The quick story is that Google Chrome Helper isn't really the problem. Browser plug-ins aren't features that are rendered by HTML code; they involve content that needs to be pulled in from elsewhere. The "Google Chrome Helper" is the interface between the embed code in the browser and a remote server, and it's set to run automatically with Chrome's default settings.
In many cases, the plug-ins and processes they're handling aren't listed by name because the APIs don't allow it. Google Chrome Helper is a martyr. Disabling Helper's auto-helping is easy, and it won't prevent you from using plug-ins. You'll just have to opt in to view plug-in content on a case-by-case basis. Deactivating it isn't entirely intuitive, though—there's no mention of the Helper outside of your Activity Monitor and forum complaints.
First, shut down all your Chrome windows without quitting the program. Any embedded Flash, Java, Quicktime, DivX, or Silverlight content on a webpage will appear as a grayed-out space until you click on it to load the player and the content. One huge benefit of destroying the Google Chrome Helper? It should keep Flash ads from auto-loading without having to install an ad-blocker.
